A little more difficult (though still quite easy!)

Ok here's a harder one.........

......................................................................maybe?

I don't know this but I think it might be Ben Lawers taken from near Kenmore.

I wouldn't be surprised to be wrong!

Planet Earth? Probably Scotland?

Close enough for an intergalactic wanderer like me, I reckon.

My immediate thought on seeing the double peaks was Lomond Hills, but I think it is somewhere a bit more wild and the shapes don't really fit.

I can see why you think that Calum, but it's not. If I tell you the water is sea, not loch, does it help?
Andrew, you're way off I'm afraid.
Go further west.

Don't be "afraid" Ruth! I'm not that scary (and my conviction has lapsed)...

Anyway, I don't know. But it is a nice picture. I'd say it's a picture of "Ben something" from the shore of "Loch something". I expect that should be enough for a pass.

Oh... but you said it wasn't loch. Are you sure it is not a sea loch? Actually it looks a bit like Goat Fell, but I think I've messed up again cos the shore is too close. What is your policy on "remediation"?

Actually it looks a lot like Goat Fell (having just checked on Google Images). It looks so much like Goat Fell that I believe it may actually be, Goat Fell, on the lovely Isle of Arran. I love Arran (even if I have misidentified it I still love it).

It's so beautiful, Ruth. It seems a bit unreal. Would it be possible to get the photo enlarged like the first ones you posted?

My next attempt is Ben More on Mull?

Probably wrong again.

if I'm right I'll be pleased but annoyed because this was my first idea and i talked myself out of it.

Come on, Ruth. Time to stop teasing.

Andrew, you got there eventually. It is Goatfell on Arran (I little predictable given my connections I would have thought), taken from the Cal Mac ferry terminal in Brodick.
Claudia, I don't know why this picture won't enlarge. Sometimes they do and at other times thay don't. I'll have to see if I can sort this out.

Yes, when I realised it could have been taken from Arran rather than from the mainland it all made sense.

I get that picture issue too sometimes. I don't know what causes it. Only thing I could suggest is to delete the picture and try inserting it again, but I have no evidence that would work.

I did as you suggested Andrew, and deleted then reinserted the picture, and it now enlarges when you click on it. Strange!

"I did as you suggested Andrew"

That's even stranger!

It's even more beautiful enlarged. Thank you, Ruth.

The Isle of Arran is a wonderful place. For someone like me, who has only visited rather than lived there, it is like another world to retreat to every few years, and so accessible, just a brief ferry trip from the mainland. One of my long term plans is to get the Arran golf pass that gives access to its seven golf courses - Sounds like a good week away for "the lads", but I have not managed to organise it yet. One day...
