Adversity

The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

On the assumption that there is something big behind the post, "Take care, Ruth,".

If there is nothing big behind this post, "Take care anyway, Ruth"

Thank you Calum. Yes there is something big behind the post, two things actually. But looking on the bright side I realised again today I have some really good friends to help me through.
You take care too.

Fine words Ruth. I am grateful for the true friends who have been there for me too.

Very true! I hope things are better now, Ruth. Good that you have some friends near you to sustain you in difficult times. Wishing you rest, peace and moments of laughter.

When Ruth meets Adversity then Adversity meets its match, I reckon, and hope. Good luck.

Jams, Claude, thank you. I'm coming to terms with things now, but a long way to go yet.
Andrew, I like your thinking. I will try to live up to it :-)

Before having read Calum's comment and your reply, I just nodded and then smilingly thought that this thought is one of the best a General can have.

Now I do hope that Andrew is right, and like him do wish you good luck.

A very wise quote.

I hope that things resolve themselves and that you feel better soon.

Take care.
