Autumn in the Trossachs

A few pictures from a short October break.....
Day one - view of Loch Katrine from the top of the diminutive but interesting Ben An on a squally, blustery day.
Day two - We climbed the much more challenging Ben Lomond. The view back down over Loch Lomond was spectacular in the sunshine.......

and also north to Ben More and Stob Binnein, the two snow covered peaks in the distance.........
and although the weather was mostly kind, occasional hailshowers blew in when we were at the summit. You can just see one to the east over Ben Ledi here.......

On day three we gave our legs a bit of a rest and did a gentle low-level walk around Loch Ard, encountering  some interesting creatures on the way......
and the early stillness gave some wonderful reflections.......

Wonderful scenery, it must have been lovely walking there :-)

It was lovely CP, but the guide books' description of Ben Lomond as one of the easier munros is a little misleading. It is a long hard slog to the top!
