So many options this week I found it hard to chose. I resisted posting one of my standard mountain photos in favour of this - the lighthouse at Ardnamurchan Point. It is the most westerly point of the UK mainland and one of my favourite places.

I couldn't resist adding a couple of extra photos too.....

I found this difficult as I don't often take photos in the rain, and if I do, they tend not to be very good.
This one was taken just after the rain stopped, and shows one of Scotland's many lochs (very wet!)

I couldn't resist this picture of my two boys for today's theme. It was taken about 6 years ago at Noosa Beach north of Brisbane. I think you can tell by their faces how cold the water was!

Autumn in the Trossachs

A few pictures from a short October break.....

Day one - view of Loch Katrine from the top of the diminutive but interesting Ben An on a squally, blustery day.

Day two - We climbed the much more challenging Ben Lomond. The view back down over Loch Lomond was spectacular in the sunshine.......

and also north to Ben More and Stob Binnein, the two snow covered peaks in the distance.........

and although the weather was mostly kind, occasional hailshowers blew in when we were at the summit. You can just see one to the east over Ben Ledi here.......

On day three we gave our legs a bit of a rest and did a gentle low-level walk around Loch Ard, encountering  some interesting creatures on the way......

and the early stillness gave some wonderful reflections.......

Climbing Ben Chonzie one day last October, we started off in mist and fog, then burst into beautiful sunshine at around 2000 feet. The glen below was still covered in a thick layer of cloud!
